Summer School Information
For middle school, any classes students might like to take during the summer would primarily be for review and/or enrichment. There are no credits or summer classes offered through CVUSD between 5th-8th grade. So, if students would like to take classes this summer, we suggest selecting ones that are the most interesting and meaningful for them. Daily reading and math practice are always recommended and general study skills and organization classes can be helpful for students, as well. The following are summer resources:

Summer Reading & Writing Practice
A couple of great online resource for students are ReadWorks, Common Lit, and Newsela. They offer fiction and non-fiction selections by grade level with follow-up comprehension questions:

Summer Math Practice
For extra math practice over the summer, Ms. Coffman, our Math Department Chair, has set up assignments for all Colina students to access through Delta Math. The following are her instructions for accessing the assignments: Summer Math Review Opportunity
